The capital PATNA.….. Patna was known as Kusumpura, Pushpapura, Patliputra, Azimabad in Ancient days. It is one of world's most ancient cities, a fact established by archaeological excavations.  Ancient Patliputra  was the Capital of  Emperor Chandragupta, King Ashoka, King Samudragupta, Pala Kings, Sher Shah Suri, and the Grandson of Emperor Aurangzeb - Azimush Shan who renamed this city as Azeemabad. Patna is linked with air, rail & road with Delhi and all major cities. 
 
PLACES TO SEE IN PATNA:
 
Kumhrar: Reveals the ruins of Patliputra from 600 BC to 600 AD and remains of the post 600 AD era. The most valuable finds are the  wooden ramparts and the 80 Sandstone Pillar Hall of the Mauryan  Palace, dating back to 400 - 300 BC. Kumhrar
Golghar Golghar : 29 meter high silo is vast hemisphere . It's wall is 3.6 meters thick at the base and was built in the year 1786 to serve as granery for British armies . The empty shell now provides a vantage point on the city of Patna. 
 
Patna Museum Established in 1917. It has 57,000 rare collections, 22,000 ancient coins including the statue of Yaxhani & 17 metres high fossilised tree, which is about 200 yrs. Old. Patna Museum
 
Sadaquat Ashram : The seat of Bihar Vidyapeeth , a National University set up in 1921. India's first President Late Dr. Rajendra Prasad lived here and now his personal belongings are housed in Rajendra Museum. 
 

Sher Shah Suri Masjid : Most Majestic of all mosques in Bihar and is still a landmark in the development of Afghan architecture. 
 

Jalan Museum : A  museum where one can see rare collections of Jade, Chinese Porcelain,  
Paintings  and  Silver Filigree work of the Mughal period

Padri ki Haveli (The old Roman catholic Church of1775): Built in late 18th century, worth seeing for its architectural designs.

Pathar ki Masjid : Also known as the Sangi Masjid was built by Parvez Shah, son of Emperor Jahangir in the year 1621, during his tenure as the Governor of Bihar. 
Har Mandir : Guru Gobind Singh the tenth and last Sikh Guru was born here in 1766. This is one of the four Holiest Sikh Shrines. Harmandir was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab and is also known as Patna Sahib.

Khuda- Baksh Oriental Library : 
One of the largest one-man  collection of Arabic & Persian manuscripts,Rajput and Mughal paintings, and oddities like the inch wide Quran.  It also has  books rescued from  the plunder of the University Cordoba in Spain.
