RANCHI
  RANCHI is located at 350 kms from Patna and is linked by Air, Rail and Road. Once the summer capital of Bihar  situated at an altitude of 2140 and is surrounded by beautiful hills, lakes and waterfalls, which are 100 meter high.
   
Jagannath Temple : This Hindu temple built in the 17th century resting on a hillock is located about10 kms from Ranchi town. Rath yatra or Car festival similar to that of Puri is held every year in the months of June/July.   
 
    
    		 Tagore Hill or Morabadh Hill : Morabadh hill which  inspired Tagore to write poems and 4 kms away is another attractive hill and is bigger than Ranchi Hill. Ramkrishna Ashram is situated near the hill. 
 
 
Hundru Falls : located at a distance of 45 kms from Ranchi where the Suvarnarekha river falls from a height of 320 feet and the base of the falls are a favourite picnic and bathing Spot.    
 
   

Sita and Dassam Falls :Sita falls is adjacent to Johna falls. The best time to enjoy the beauty of Sita falls is in the early morning .Dassam falls where river Kanchi falls from the height of 144 feet, is situated at a distanceof 34 kms from Ranchi.
 
   
  		 Johna Falls : also known as the Gautumdhara. The Johna falls (140 feet) is situated at the distance of 40 kms from Ranchi on the Ranchi -Purullia road. The scenery around it is very picturesque and is a popular picnic spot . 
 
Ranchi Hill : Almost in the centre of the town, with a Shiva Temple on the top. One can have a panoramic view of the town and the surrounding from the top of the hill. 

Kanke Dam : The Dam located about 4kms on the Ranchi - Kanke road has great scenic beauty and is a popular picnic spot. 

Ranchi Lake : This lake is situated in the heart of the town near the foot of Ranch hill. 
Tribal Research Institute and Museum :Museum exhibits life and historyof Tribal people of Chotanagpur. 

Heavy Engineering Corporation : A Government of India undertaking factory situated at Hatia about11 kms southwest of Ranchi. The HEC factory comprises of three major plants viz : Foundry Forge, Heavy Machine Tools, and the Heavy Machine building plants. 

Hatia Dam : is located about 12kms from the city of Ranchi.
